Adelaide’s Nursery + Anxiously Awaiting Her Arrival!

Adelaide's Nursery | Lemons and Basil

I know, I know…another kids-family-personal/non-food-related post…I know this doesn’t interest some of you and that is COMPLETELY OKAY. This is the season of our lives right now, one I am loving, and I promise that before long, I will have tons of healthy recipes to share with you. But from changing out rooms, to celebrating 2nd birthdays and awaiting the birth of our daughter, so much of our lives are centered on growing and loving our family and these amazing little people, and this is a place for me to post and record the big things. A place I can come back to at a later date and share with the kids. A place where I hope they can see and read of the love their parents have for them.

Based on the title, you can probably guess that little Adelaide has yet to make her appearance. As much as I keep trying to coax her to come on out and meet her amazing big brother and incredible Daddy, she seems to be cozy. Although tomorrow is 40 weeks, so truly I can’t complain, I was just hoping the second one would come a week or so early. But as much as I’m ready to meet her, I’m working hard to try to soak up these last days as a family of three and our time with just Brighton.

Adelaide’s nursery was previously Brighton’s, we made him a new big boy room {which you can see here} and made a few changes to girly this one up. I’m not much of a pink girl, so we went with more of a coral and added in just a touch of pink. We put a lot of thought into the pieces above her crib, things that represent strong values in our lives and things we want to teach our children. In the end, it’s a sweet room and I can’t wait to bring her home to it – hoping that happens very soon.

My sister picked up several of the small accessories for me, including this little sign. Mom use to sing this to and with us when we were little “I love you in the morning and in the afternoon, I love you in the evening and underneath the moon”  💕 I have every intention of singing it to Adelaide as well.

These little gold frames were my Mama’s, she had some beautiful cross-stiched pieces she made years ago in them, but the colors and subject weren’t quite right for a nursery. The white pillows were also hers and something she made, it means a lot to me to have these pieces in there, a daily reminder to share with Adelaide about her amazing Grandma who is no longer with us, but would have loved her so dearly.
